JOSÉ VILLALOBOS ROMERO He studied audiovisual media at the Audiovisual Media Center.
He works as a director, photographer and documentary editor, as well as an animator and software programmer and multimedia installations. His first documentary short film Oxxo, business or monopoly (2004) was presented at the Hamburg Ambulart festival in Germany in 2005, Videobrasil 2007 in Sao Paulo and at the 2007 Festival of Flowers in Madrid. He has worked as an editor of documentary feature films including The Ginger Ninjas, Ride Mexico, Faceless, Don Mammie Blue, as well as other documentary short films and commercial videos.
In 2016, he premiered his debut documentary El Charro de Toluquilla, a very successful work that won prizes at national and international festivals for best documentary film, such as FICG, FICMY, Sheffield Doc Fest, GIFF, GFCM, José Rovirosa Price.
