\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSergio Morkin is an Argentinean documentary filmmaker living in Mexico. He studied cinematography in Buenos Aires and graduated in 1992, and was drawn to film and drama direction.\nHis critically acclaimed documentary film Oscar (2004) has received numerous international awards, including best direction, best writing and best cinematography. Since then, Morkin has worked for several production companies and directed different documentary films for TV. He also designs and teaches documentary filmmaking workshops throughout Mexico.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn 2012 he shot and directed The Ginger Ninjas Ride Mexico, a feature documentary film that audiences have responded enthusiastically to at film festivals. Morkin is a founding partner of Lupe & Hijos Films and produced The Charro of Toluquilla, a documentary film by director Jos\u00e9 Villalobos Romero.\n\nHis most recent documentary Maricarmen will be premiered in 2019.\n\nHis projects have obtained support from several institutions like Fondo Nacional de las Artes, (Argentina), Altercine (Canada), Aeci (Spain), Docsforum (Mexico), ITDP (Mexico), IMCINE (Mexico), Tribeca Film Institute (USA) Gabriel Figueroa Fund (Mexico) Fundaci\u00f3n Cin\u00e9polis (Mexico), among others.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ganador del Golden Frog en Camerimage International Film Festival 2017 en la secci\u00f3n DOCUMENTARY FEATURES COMPETITION, por el Largometraje Documental Potentiae. Ricardo es cinefot\u00f3grafo egresado del Centro de Capacitaci\u00f3n Cinematogr\u00e1fca y Licenciado en Comunicaci\u00f3n Social por la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma Metropolitana de M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n

Ha sido cuatro veces seleccionado por su trabajo en el INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF THE ART OF CINEMATOGRAPHY, CAMERIMAGE: 2010, 2014, 2015 y 2017, el festival m\u00e1s importante de fotograf\u00eda cinematogr\u00e1fca del mundo. En 2015 el cortometraje 400 maletas, fotografado por \u00e9l, fue nominado por la STUDENT ACADEMY AWARDS para el premio a mejor cortometraje extranjero. En 2019 produjo Maricarmen de Sergio Morkin, ganadora de los premios del p\u00fablico en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia y en El festival de cine documental Zanate, entre otros. Actualmente es socia de DRa\u00edz Producciones, donde produjo \u00bfQu\u00e9 hicimos mal? de Liliana Torres, coproducci\u00f3n con Espa\u00f1a, en 2019 estrenaron Observar las aves de Andrea Mart\u00ednez Crowther, haci\u00e9ndose acreedoras del premio del p\u00fablico en el Festival de Cine de Los Cabos, y en 2021 Ok, est\u00e1 bien\u2026 de Gabriela Sandoval, nominada a mejor \u00f3pera prima en los Arieles, actualmente desarrolla diversos proyectos de ficci\u00f3n y documental. He studied audiovisual media at the Audiovisual Media Center.
\nHe works as a director, photographer and documentary editor, as well as an animator and software programmer and multimedia installations.
\nHis first documentary short film Oxxo, business or monopoly (2004) was presented at the Hamburg Ambulart festival in Germany in 2005, Videobrasil 2007 in Sao Paulo and at the 2007 Festival of Flowers in Madrid.\u00a0He has worked as an editor of documentary feature films including The Ginger Ninjas, Ride Mexico, Faceless, Don Mammie Blue, as well as other documentary short films and commercial videos.
\nIn 2016, he premiered his debut documentary El Charro de Toluquilla, a very successful work that won prizes at national and international festivals for best documentary film, such as FICG, FICMY, Sheffield Doc Fest, GIFF, GFCM, Jos\u00e9 Rovirosa Price.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Estudi\u00f3 dise\u00f1o gr\u00e1fico en Universidad de Buenos Aires. Comenz\u00f3 su actividad profesional como dise\u00f1ador y animador en Canal 13 hasta convertirse en director de arte de la compa\u00f1\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Se destac\u00f3 en el medio por un estilo personal de producci\u00f3n y sus trabajos han sido reconocidos y premiados numerosas veces. Ha desarrollado proyectos para clientes como Turner, Fox International Channels, Sony, Canal 13, Am\u00e9rica Tv, Pol-ka, entre otros.<\/p>\n

Se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como director de arte para la se\u00f1al FOX Internacional en Estambul, en el equipo del Centro de Arte electr\u00f3nico del canal en Turqu\u00eda. Ha brindado servicios de dise\u00f1o y animaci\u00f3n, junto a su equipo, para el mercado publicitario, trabajando para agencias como Cravero Lanis, Agulla&Bachetti y Walter Thompson.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
